“Awesome service! I was strung along for over 6 weeks by another septic service company in Flagstaff, with several promised but unreturned phone calls and a no-show site visit. I called this company and they were on site within four hours! Professional, friendly and incredibly timely. Highly recommended!”

“AZ Alternative Septic helped us resolve a very stressful situation when our septic system needed repair and the company that installed it would not even respond to our calls. They are one of the most professional companies I've worked with in the Flagstaff area. On top of that, they were nice to work with and their charges were very reasonable. I'd use them again and recommend them without hesitation. Unreserved 5 stars!”

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my septic tank pumped?
You should pump your septic tank every 3 to 5 years depending on its use, size and number of people in the house. If your tank gets too full, particles of scum and sludge will flush out of the tank. This material will cause the material to clog and the system to fail.
What is the difference between a standard septic system and an alternative septic system?
A standard system is its own on-site treatment system that holds back the solids and lets effluent flow through a leach field. An alternative system has multiple ways to treat the water to make it cleaner for distribution and multiple distribution methods for flood plain areas, clay type soils, and rock along with multiple ways for pressure distribution for better quality water.
Should I add additives to my septic tank?
You do not need to. Most additives do not provide any treatment and some may actually harm the system.
How do I conserve water?
You can conserve water by fixing leaks and drips, replacing your old fixtures with “low flow” types. This will extend the life to your system and allows your septic tank to digest and separate incoming materials.
How can I provide good water quality to my tank?
Limit your use of the garbage disposal, put fats and oils in the trash, refrain from flushing paper towels, cigarette butts, disposable diapers, sanitary napkins. Also, use normal amounts of cleaners and detergents. This will decrease the amount of solids that enter into the tank which decreases the capacity and shortens the time in between pumpings.

30 Years of Septic Experience

Being a part of Northern Arizona from childhood served as my foundation and played a part in my desire to add continued growth and services to my community and my surrounding communities.

My grandfather started in this industry in 1982, which served as my true introduction to understanding the industry and the concepts involved in the world of septic systems. Having the opportunity to begin my career in septic services from a young age allowed me to learn, grow, develop, and enhance my skills from the beginning level of a laborer, to the level of management with a door opening for ownership in the creation of AZ Alternative Septic Solutions, LLC.

AZ Alternative Septic Solutions is a family-owned and operated business with the values of home, longevity, honesty, and a deep desire to service our fellow community members. I pride myself in my ability to come to my clients and community as a NAWT certified inspector and ADEQ certified inspector, which has provided them with a level of security in knowing that our team is knowledgeable and skillful in our trade to allow for the highest level of service.
